Waterproofing and moisture protection
Tile and grout are not waterproof on their own. Behind every shower and tub surround we install a waterproofing system over cement board, so water that gets through the grout never reaches the wall framing. In the rest of the room we use moisture-resistant drywall and a paint made for bathrooms.
Bathroom flooring, drywall and painting
Because we do drywall, flooring, painting and caulking in-house, the whole bathroom is finished by the same crew. There is no waiting between trades, and nobody can blame a problem on the trade before them.
Plumbing and electrical work that needs a licensed trade is carried out by licensed professionals and coordinated as part of the job.
How long does a bathroom renovation take?
A partial upgrade, such as a new vanity, flooring and paint, can be done in a few days. A full remodel with new tile and waterproofing takes longer because each layer needs time to cure before the next goes on. Do I need a permit for a bathroom renovation in Toronto?
A cosmetic renovation usually does not. Moving plumbing, changing walls or adding a new bathroom can require a permit. We tell you at the survey whether your plans need one.
Can we use the house during the renovation?
Yes. We seal off the bathroom to control dust and clean up at the end of each day. If it is your only bathroom, we plan the work to keep the time without a toilet as short as possible.
Do you supply the tile and fixtures?
Either way works. You can choose and buy your own, or we can supply them with the receipt shown.
